A new place to share thoughts

Will a new blog surprise anyone? I don’t think so. Is it even necessary to ask such a question? In my case — not really. I’ll say right away: I created this site not to surprise anyone, but to have a personal space to express myself and my thoughts. So, what will I be like here? What thoughts will I express?

Let’s get acquainted. My name is Pavlo, I am 29 years old at the time of writing this text. I am originally from the Chernihiv region, Ukraine. Now I live in Chernihiv. I love my city — it’s big enough to have developed infrastructure, and at the same time small enough to be cozy. Meanwhile, the northern border of the region doesn’t evoke positive thoughts, but it is what it is.

My job is interesting: I work with modern technologies — cloud services, large corporate platforms, complex architectures. I use Datadog, AWS, Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Prometheus. I am a technical lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for monitoring and observability of the company’s services. Alongside technology, my role involves a lot of people management, talent development, and project management. My company, Ledger, is a market leader in its field.

Work, of course, reveals some traits of my personality. However, I am convinced that it is hobbies that open a person up more deeply. My hobbies change over time, but some remain from childhood — psychology, business (yes, in childhood), philosophy and programming. I haven’t even thought about why exactly these. If I have to describe it in one sentence, it’s “I love to explore why people make some decisions instead of others, how it affects our lives, and what is ‘life’?”

I will write here about all these things: about work, life, something interesting, something heartfelt, and something deep. I hope this will be informative, and I will be able to reveal myself in a new way.
